The goal of the First-Year Seminar is to welcome the student to Bloomfield College by providing support in transition to college life; understanding the value of a liberal arts education; furthering the development of student career, college and life success skills; and building the expectation of academic and life success.
Restriction(s): Bloomfield College students only. This course provides an opportunity for sophomore BCMSU students to strengthen key college, leadership, and career-readiness skills through curricular and co-curricular experiences. Class time will be spent on financial literacy and financing college education, resume writing, time management and goal-setting, and strategies for success in your major.

This course provides an opportunity for junior BCMSU students to strengthen key career-readiness and future-readiness skills as well as strategies for graduate school applications. Class time will be spent on goal-setting, preparing job and graduate school materials, and securing internship and employment opportunities. We will also review best practices for transitioning from college to career or graduate studies.
